Cheryl McDonald

Cheryl McDonald, M.Ed. is Senior Consultant, focusing on the growth of our nonprofit client division.  Cheryl has over 25 years experience in designing training systems, developing leaders and facilitating organizational change.  Having served organizations in both operations and staff management roles, Cheryl brings an understanding of how to blend both functions for organizational growth and effectiveness.  Much of Cheryl’s experience has been in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, where she managed, created and delivered training, specializing in management development, presentation skills, customer service and automated workflow systems.  Cheryl also coaches executives and managers to achieve their optimum potential, thus maximizing organizational performance.  Her client list includes GlaxoSmithKline, UPMC Passavant Hospital, Bristol-Myers Squibb, US Steel Corporation and the Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE), to name a few.

Cheryl also consults to nonprofits, particularly churches and faith-based organizations, in the areas of program and leadership development, volunteer management and maximizing individual giftedness for meaningful service.  Her previous experience with human service agencies includes bringing together various community resources to assess needs and create programs for collaborative change.  She also authored a child abuse prevention manual for hospital professionals on implementing an education and support program for new parents.

Cheryl previously held various management roles with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and with Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation (AHERF).  She is a former President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.  She also served as Vice President on the Allegheny County Chapter Board of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, one of the largest fraternal benefit organizations in the United States.

Cheryl earned her M.Ed. in Adult Education, with an emphasis in Curriculum and Supervision, from the University of Pittsburgh.
